Its main functions are related with the order and security applicable to Mexican air space.SENEAM´s functions were established in the second article of the presidential agreement signed in October 1978, which are the following:

1. To manage the facilities of the Navaids, of Radar Systems, of the Telecommunications Networks and Air Traffic Control, which implies to coordinate their usage, preservation and direction.

2.To plan, execute and control the investment of the infrastructure and installation of the radar systems, navaids and telecommunications networks.

3. To provide air navigation services: Air Traffic Control,Meteorology, Navaids and Telecommunications.
